Hermannswerder & Potsdam

Hermannswerder

The peninsula Hermannwerder is situated amidst the Havel River and has good access to Potsdam. Here, the carpet producer Hermann Hoffbauer and his wife Clara founded the Hoffbauer Foundation Hoffbauer-Stiftung.
In less than 10 years the married couple erected 20 buildings, in which elderly people could be taken care of and which offered a place of apprenticeship for young people.
The foundation was opened up on the 30th of June in 1901.
